U prošlom putopisu ispričali smo kako izgleda dan u Vodicama, od puta preko Velebita do parkinga tik uz Plažu Blata i prvog kutka u beach baru Samo Pomalo. Ovaj put ostajemo na istom mjestu, ali pričamo o onome što Vodice stvarno nose kao gastro destinaciju. Na TripAdvisoru je za Vodice trenutačno izlistano više od stotinu restorana i blizu šest tisuća recenzija gostiju, a raspon je velik: od finih restorana i konoba sa svježom ribom i domaćom paštom, preko roštilja i odrezaka, pizzerija, burgera i sendviča, do sladoleda, deserata i beach barova. Među imenima koja se često spominju su Strikomanov bistro, Konoba Tri Piruna, Konoba Roki, Restoran SKY, Bistro Gulož, Karmelski Dvori u sklopu Konobe Okit, Konoba Mediterano, Restoran Adria, Restoran i pizzeria Šimun, Hermanos Beach Bar, Gara Burger House, Grill House Pelajić i Šarm uz samu šetnicu, sasvim dovoljno da dočara raspon ponude.
In our previous travelogue we described what a day in Vodice looks like, from the drive over Velebit to the parking spot right by Blata Beach and our first stop at the beach bar Samo Pomalo. This time we stay in the same place, but talk about what Vodice really brings to the table as a food destination. TripAdvisor currently lists more than a hundred restaurants for Vodice and close to six thousand guest reviews, and the range is wide: from fine restaurants and taverns with fresh fish and homemade pasta, through grills and steaks, pizzerias, burgers and sandwiches, to ice cream, desserts and beach bars. Among the names that come up often are Strikomanov bistro, Konoba Tri Piruna, Konoba Roki, Restoran SKY, Bistro Gulož, Karmelski Dvori within Konoba Okit, Konoba Mediterano, Restoran Adria, Restoran i pizzeria Šimun, Hermanos Beach Bar, Gara Burger House, Grill House Pelajić and Šarm right on the promenade, quite enough to give a sense of the range on offer.
Šetnica u Vodicama sama je po sebi jedna dugačka gastro vitrina. Iz jednog kraja u drugi nižu se terase, konobe i beach barovi, svaki s vlastitim stilom, a more je gotovo uvijek dio pogleda, bilo da sjediš uz čašu vina ili samo prolaziš s pivom u ruci.
The promenade in Vodice is, in itself, one long gastro display case. From one end to the other, terraces, taverns and beach bars line up, each with its own style, and the sea is almost always part of the view, whether you're sitting with a glass of wine or just passing by with a beer in hand.
Atmosfera duž cijele plaže i šetnice mijenja se iz sata u sat: ujutro mirna i tiha, popodne živa i puna glazbe, a navečer, kad svjetla s terasa padnu na more, postaje ona vrsta ugođaja zbog koje se ljudi vraćaju na isto mjesto iz godine u godinu.
The atmosphere along the whole beach and promenade shifts hour by hour, calm and quiet in the morning, lively and full of music in the afternoon, and in the evening, once the lights from the terraces fall onto the sea, it becomes exactly the kind of mood that brings people back to the same spot year after year.
Dio dana proveli smo i samo hodajući uz plažu, bez konkretnog cilja, s pogledom koji se pruža sve do Tribunja s jedne strane i prema otvorenom moru s druge. Ponekad je najbolji dio dana upravo taj, hodanje bez žurbe, prije nego što sjedneš za stol.
We also spent part of the day simply walking along the beach, with no particular destination, the view stretching all the way to Tribunj on one side and out to the open sea on the other. Sometimes that's the best part of the day, walking without hurry, before sitting down at a table.

Kod Markuna smo pojeli ćevape, i to u ambijentu koji čovjek ne očekuje uz plažu: prekrasan drveni interijer, uslužan i pažljiv ugostitelj, te pogled na more koji cijeloj priči da dodatnu težinu. Restoran koji ostavlja dojam da je za njega vrijedilo skrenuti s puta.
At Markun we ate ćevapi, in a setting you don't quite expect right on the beach: a beautiful wooden interior, attentive and considerate service, and a sea view that adds extra weight to the whole experience. A restaurant that leaves you feeling it was worth the detour.

Samo Pomalo
S parkinga smo, doslovno, ušli ravno u Samo Pomalo, i samo ime već govori sve što treba: vrijeme je za predah. U ponudi je pomalo od svega, masaža za opuštanje, poneki desert, fast food za brzi zalogaj i rashlađujuće piće za vruć dan. Plaža je preko puta, na svega desetak metara, pa se lako uđe u ritam okupaj se, vrati se, sjedni, ponovi.
From the parking lot we walked, quite literally, straight into Samo Pomalo, and the name alone says everything you need to know: it's time to slow down. The offer covers a bit of everything, a massage to unwind, a dessert here and there, fast food for a quick bite and a cooling drink for a hot day. The beach is right across the street, barely ten metres away, so it's easy to fall into a rhythm of swim, come back, sit down, repeat.
